Job done. I printed out the directions for my wrencher-guy, which helped smooth the progress. Only tricky bit was getting over the concern about breaking or crimping one of the spider legs.

Got it. The tip about half closing the door enabled me to force the tip of a screwdriver in to the end and, some finagling later, the whole thing sprang out.

I finally got the petcock open when I figured out that I not only had to turn it , but pull it out also.

I still have to put the skirting inside the wheel well back and bolt the skidplate back...
