You probably disturbed the wiring harness to the ECM that is located behind the glovebox, or behind the passenger kick panel. Check all the cable plugs to see if they are connected good to the ECM.

You'll need to bring #1 cylinder up on compression stroke and line the mark on the balancer to TDC on the timing tab. Remove #1 spark plug and bump the engine slowly till it blows out the plug hole....

Yep, run the tank low, drop it and change the sending unit. You can now get just the sending unit. They are a common problem.
