it says park but doesnt engage....and when i start it up it flys in reverse....so basically park and reverse is the same damn thing

i have a 91 blazer and it wont go into park.....i say its because the linkage is off but my friends dad said it could be the fork in the tranny that puts it in park or something like that.....well i...
