RE: Replacing idler arm and center link

Well, the idler was definately worn out. The center link was fine as was the Pitman arm.

There were two problems. #1 all of the nuts were 18mm and of course my wrench and socket sets had 17 and...

RE: Replacing idler arm and center link

For some reason I had the pitman arm on the brain. I know the nut on the steering output shaft is fairly large.

I looked at it myself a while back. Pulling on the center link would produce a...

Replacing idler arm and center link

Hey guys,

Just a quick question. I took my truck to the dealer today to check out a couple problems. The steering is fairly sloppy around center, the wipers were acting up and the mileage seemed...

RE: Best speakers under $100?

I talked to my brother tonight about the speakers in the Blazer. He's got a pair of MB Quart components that he's not using anymore. So, I'll be borrowing them at least for a while. Only problem is...

RE: Electronics Possesed By Devil

My Blazer was turning the dome on and killing the radio as soon as I killed the ignition. I figured out that one of the door switches wasn't making good contact. Sounds like yours might be a bit more...

RE: Jimmy/Blazer Radio removel How To!!!PICS

Actually, the piece I had to cut was the rear radio support. It was about 1/2" too tall and was hitting the back of the Sony. Once I cut it down the Sony sat flush with the dash.

RE: Jimmy/Blazer Radio removel How To!!!PICS

Well, I got my Sony installed last night. I soldered up the connections from the Sony harness to the GM adapter. I think that took the most time, but I prefer solder over crimp connections. The dash...

RE: Best speakers under $100?

Yeah, I noticed that the other day. Bummer, I've had my Shiva for 5 years. It will litterally shake my entire 2600 sq ft house on 250W. I rarely get to use it anywhere near it's potential.

RE: Which shop manual?

I won a Helm on eBay over the weekend, $73 shipped. Not too bad, but much cheaper than a trip to the dealer. ;)

RE: Dome light/RAP problem

Hmmm, I don't see a switch in the rear gate area. Funny thing, this morning I stopped for gas and the RAP was working. All I can figure is that I must have reseated a plug or the back glass wasn't...

RE: Best speakers under $100?

I'm comparing the low bass response to my 2001 Silverado. It had decent low end (< 100hz) response. The speakers in the Blazer have much less response, they roll off at ~ >200hz. I'm sure a decent...

Dome light/RAP problem

I've got a problem with the RAP and Dome Light on my Blazer. The dome lights are on all the time and the RAP isn't working right now. I have the LR door panel off because I'm waiting for a...

RE: Best speakers under $100?

Last night on the way home from workI finally figured out what's wrong with the stock setup. There's absolutely no low end bass. When I turn up the bass it gets muddy because there's a ton of mid...

RE: Best speakers under $100?

hillbillyinOhio,

The 6012i looks like what I need. The price is certainly right.

Thanks for the hook up.

RE: Best speakers under $100?

I would say that I'm not listening too loud compared with most of you. I like to listen at a comfortable level. Of course, if the system can handle the power and still sound good I'm more likely to...

Best speakers under $100?

I just bought a 98 4dr Blazer and the sound system is literally making me sick. It looks like the same deck that was in my 2001 Silverado, which I liked, but it sounds muddy and tinny at the same...

RE: Jimmy/Blazer Radio removel How To!!!PICS

Thanks for the pictorial. Your timing couldn't be better. I just bought a Sony CDX-GT610Ui that I want to install next weekend. I've got a Scosche GM1588B dash kit coming and I've got the harness out...

Which shop manual?

Hey Guys,

I just bought a 98 Blazer with 60k miles. It's in pretty good shape, but has a few issues, mostly minor electrical stuff. Which shop manual would you recommend?

I found a Helm...

RE: Recline handle broke off

I had this happen on my 96 S-10 and it was already broken on the 98 Blazer I just bought.

I have a lathe so I turned a sleeve that goes over the recline adjuster shaft and slips into the...

RE: Gas pedal height or throttle cable adjustment?

I honestly can't remember how my S-10 was, but I don't remember such a huge difference with my Silverado.

I might pull the pedal assy this weekend and take a look. It's noticable enough that my...

Gas pedal height or throttle cable adjustment?

Hello,

I just bought a 98 Blazer 4dr with 59k miles. It's got a couple minor issues, but overall it's very clean. I've owned a 96 S-10 PU and most recently a 2001 Silverado.

I've got a...
