As it turned out my original block was trashed....

I know this thread is old but has anyone found a solution. Already cleaned egr valve, pcv valve, maf, and no apparent vacuum leaks.

It's not going to be a big lope, but enough to keep the curve at 900-6500rpm. I do track my blazer so I am going for around 300-400 hp on the build

Got the block tore down and every push rod is either tweaked or very bent, both head gaskets had leaks, but no other damage that I could see.

Since it is my DD I can't afford it to be down...

Since it is my DD I can't afford it to be down for a week for an ls swap, so for now the 4.3 block I have is getting bored in the next week or two,and I'm going to be polishing and porting the heads...

Im a fabricator by trade, but I found an ls1 swap kit wit shorty*headers, adjustable motor mounts, and a wiring harness adaptor for the $300. Also I have the Nv3500 tranny that will bolt right up....

With my knowledge and experience Im pretty confident that I can do a swap in under a week. But I'm not sure on them reliability on a built 4.3 cause I suffer from lfs
