No, the 3.4 was a replacement designed to swap out the 2.8, direct replacement motor, so it would have the "bolt holes or bosses in the block for longitudinal mounting"

I'm pretty sure mine is the fuel pump also. Either it is about to die, or the PO put in the pump for the "Z" engine.

Any secrets to getting this darn thing off? Pulled all the bolts out and it will not budge. Tried Rubber mallet and prybar and nothing. Any ideas?

Louisiana...not Los Angeles. Just traded a 99 Yamaha Blaster for a 94 four door LT Tahoe model. Little rough, but the body is (mostly) straight with no rust. It seems to be loaded...not much...
