shift problems

i have an 86 s10 blazer 2.8L auto and lately it doesn't want to drop a gear when i punch it in OD, DR, or 2 is there something i can do to fix that or should i just drop a standard in it right away....

hey im lookin at puttin a turbo in my 4.3 but idk wut it would cost me like i dont want a huge horsepower gain like a 60-110 hp gain would be perfect for me

im kinda havin the same prob i have an 87 2 dr blazer 4x4 with a 4.3 five speed in it and im lookin to do some work to it like a turbo or somethin like gain 60-110 ponies out of it but i dont know...
