Found the problem!

The 2nd knock sensor, which stood out like a sore thumb when I finally spotted it, is UNPLUGGED. The plug end is damaged. I'll go pick another one up today! Thanks guys.

Even a new looking EGR could be severely clogged. Why not do the work yourself? Did that tech replace the gasket with a new, screened gasket?

You'll be surprised at what cleaning out a clogged EGR will do for your truck. I didn't know that these Vortecs had cam sensors.
