i had the electrical connection to the actuator...

i had the electrical connection to the actuator unhooked. so there was no way for it to engage

yes my truck came equipped with 3.42 gears. For the rear i put in 3.73. No i didnt change the front gears.I thought that i would be fine to switch the rear as long as i didnt use 4 wheel drive.

Exclamation Update:

Whell instead of buying a rear end i decided to rebuild mine.I used ring and pinon from 98 tahoe with 3.73 gears but had to use my carrier housing.My axles wouldnt fit the tahoe carrier.

u could run the torsion keys up and autozone...

u could run the torsion keys up and autozone carrys load helper springs that goes over the shocks that might help to, they suppose to help shock suport up to 1,000pds a set

Exclamation Weird brake issue

Ok i had to replace the brake lines in the rear of the truck and the main line going to the rear.

First i adjusted the rear shoes.
Then i bled the master cylinder.
Then I bled all the brakes...

The vacuum actuator is located under or next to the battery. Older trucks have it next to the battery tray....

Unhappy 4X4 Issue

Last week while wheeling in 4wd hi I blew the rear end in the truck.

Axle know comes out of rear end assembly by hand.

My problem is when i blew the rear i lost my front at same time.

thanxs for all the help i have finnaly got them out. they were rusted and corroded into the handles. took form 11 am - 6 pm to get them out and replaced.

the problem is i cant disconnect the battery with out it arcing badly everytime. Trying to install the power wire for my amp and everytime i hook battery up it arcs and blows the fuse for it.
