RE: Sway bar links repair

Yeah, that's about what my GM manual's say for the link nut to lower control arm. That's what I thought.

Thanks,

RE: Sway bar links repair

Okay, that went quite smooth. Man, what a difference in handling.

One last question about tightening the nut and bolt: should I tighten until I can't tighten anymore and the bushings are...

RE: Sway bar links repair

Thanks for the replies. I already got the kit so now I just need that hacksaw;)

Yeah, when I first saw that there was no nut on the bolt, I knew something wasn't right.

Thanks again.

Sway bar links repair

While under the front end changing the oil, I noticed my sway bar links have no nut on the other side of the bolt through the lower control arm. Not too big of a deal until I tried actually removing...

RE: P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malifunction (B1S1)

Thanks for the info. I think that I may replace these sensors.

I was looking through my ALLDATA info and there are 3 heated O2 sensors: B1S1, B1S3, B2S1. ALLDATA indicates that the part...

P0135 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malifunction (B1S1)

Last month sometime I had a P0147 (B1S3) code come up and I posted it in a thread (search for P0147).

It was suggested that I clear the code and see what happens. I did, it hasn't come back on....

RE: P0147 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malifunction

You're right... time will tell. But at least I know what it is and how to fix it ;).

I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada and we have a thing called AirCare (read just another tax for us since the...

RE: P0147 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malifunction

Well, I reset the code this morning and made several trips around town today. It has yet to come back on. I also checked with my reader at the end of the day and there were no 'pending' codes...

RE: P0147 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malifunction

Okay, thanks for the info. I will reset the code in the morning and go from there. My other car is an '81 Volvo wagon with a carb so I need to familiarize myself with these crazy, modern...

RE: OBD-II Code Readers

Yes, the 3100 will read it all. The generic codes of course plus Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, and Toyota - specific codes. So far I like it. In some ways, I hope I never have to use it again, but...

P0147 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malifunction

My 'Check Engine' light came on yesterday morning. Since I just bought this beast 2 weeks ago, I thought, "Oh great, what did I get myself into...."

Anyway, my code reader indicated a P0147, O2...

RE: Suggested OBD-II Code Readers

True enough. Well, I ended up buying the 3100 since it was on sale... Merry Christmas to me! Oh well, a small price to pay for doing your own maintenance.

Thanks again for all the info.

RE: Suggested OBD-II Code Readers

I've read the manuals for the 3030 and the 3100; there are no P1 codes mentioned at the back of the manual, but you can look them up on the company's website. However, the 3100 specifically says in...

RE: Suggested OBD-II Code Readers

Thank you for the information! I forgot to mention that I live in Canada so I don't have access to those fine establishments. If anyone in Canada knows where, perhaps Canadian Tire, I can go to get...

Suggested OBD-II Code Readers

I'm looking for an OBD-II Code Reader, specifically the hand-held type and not the laptop (software) type.

In particular, I've been looking into the Equus Innova 3030 and 3100...

RE: technical manuals on line?

ALLDATA is pretty good.

Also, HELM was mentioned. They are currently having a 50%-off sale until December 31 on 1999-2001 GM literature. A good deal for you since you've got a 2000 and a good...
