But sometimes their are little things like the oil pan etc...

I would agree a junkyard axle would be easiest.
Just make sure if yours is 4x4 it's out of a 4x4 or 2wd/2wd.
The gear ratio should be the same. The RPO code will be G somthing. Can't remeber now...

If it only does it when you back in it's probably the fuel just running forward in the tank away from the pickup.
The fuel guage could be the sending unit in the tank wore out, or a bad connection.
