I'd ask my boss for a better truck lol. My mom's minivan has better acceleration than that thing.

Thats actually the work truck that I'm on. My dad (who owns the truck)is my boss and he would probably tell me to drive my own vehicle if I asked him for a better truck...LOL. I actually did take Jenn out to tow a trailer (had to pick up a A/C unit and couln't find a ball for the "little truck").

A 4 bangin S10 is pretty much like a 4.3 as far as strength goes, but when you stick a 1500lb utility body on it, It'll struggle like the "little truck" does.

 

I was thinking the same thing. lol although Im sure people would laugh at my accent too...

The sonoma is definatly weak but it is consistant, you can load it with two tons of crap and be pulling a trailer and it will still run the same accel rate.

 

Dont feel too bad, i still have a thick accent from the north (or so im told, personally i think i speak much clearer than 90% of the people down here). If you get me to say wisconsin you'll hear it real quick. That and why does everyone call pop, soda? Anyways enough of my rant.

Ya know what ya should do for kicks is try and convince your dad to get the motor to do a 3.4L conversion to it. Its a long shot but hey it would make it "more economical" and definately more fun to drive.
