New Look

So i did have the hi-rider wheels from a gmc on my blazer. ended up not liking it so i went back to PA3 wheels. i put together a con-ferr rack for my roof. it was dull and had no floor. so i got some expanded sheet metal, traced and cut it, and welded it to the rack. i then painted it gloss black. i put some brackets on it, and mounted my hi lift to it on the side. rounds off the truck pretty well.
i also have slim kc's on a light bar in front. also, bedlined the flares and rocker panels. just bought a hitch today too, woohoo.
just thought i would share.

Looks sweet, you made a great job of the rack. The bedliner looks great to, gives it a nice 2tone look.

kiwiblazer 02-25-2010 02:13 AM

That looks good. What's the wind noise like?

Sisk 02-25-2010 07:17 AM

Looks good! Very clean and fits in nicely.

CraigSnedeker 02-25-2010 07:23 AM

Awesome! I love the lightbar :D

Sisk 02-25-2010 07:32 AM

What light bar? You mean the bull bar up front?

cbr995 02-25-2010 08:30 AM

That looks more like a baja bar. Bull bars sit much lower.

Sisk 02-25-2010 09:14 AM

Yeah, you're right Matt. My bad on the name. I always think of those kind of 1/2 brush guards as bull bars, but it is a safari bar.

INHUMAN 02-25-2010 09:26 AM

Thanks for the compliments. as far as the rack goes, i havent heard any wind noise yet. my tires are probably louder than rack noise would ever be. it sounds like a cessna inside going down the road. the light bar is like a prerunner baja style. i seem to like it ok. my HID headlights are better than my KC's though lol. ther is a small chance there could be a v8 swap this year as well......

I was planning on doing the bedliner to my flares and rocker pannels when it warms up. I like to roof rack too

Unlimitedsp 02-25-2010 10:09 AM

Love it. Like how everything flows together.

99blaz 02-25-2010 11:48 AM

looks good love those baja bars. Its been on my list for awhile.

Looks great! I like the custom front valance and the front bar looks cool. im putting a western bull bar on my ZR2 this spring, off of a ford explorer. and does anybody know aproximetley how much it would cost to get the ZR2 flares repainted factory "Spectra Grey"?

sifd4x4 02-25-2010 02:48 PM

ok i have seen that baja or safari bar around but are they a custom build or can I buy one from somewhere?

I think i got mine from a place online called ORI maybe? something like that. they have like 2 versions i think.

also, as far as having flares repainted by a shop, its about $700. i work in a body shop right now, and i just had em pitch me a quick quote. to be done right the front fenders have to be removed to get the flares out. then of course, paint, prep, and materials.

Off road warehouse sells em here is the link

HOLY CRAP! Thats what i paid for the truck! I will put bedliner on before i repaint them for $700!

INHUMAN 02-25-2010 10:27 PM

Yeah, i wouldnt count on bed liner being much cheaper. i had mine quoted at line x for like 200 per FLARE, no rocker. i got it done in REFLEX at my dealership for 100 bucks total. of course i work there, so thats my deal.

sifd4x4 02-25-2010 10:44 PM

For 700 bucks I would definitely try this route. I have had some friends do really well with herculiner on everything from atv racks to brush guards.

good idea to add a better "floor" to it.
