'02 Rear Spring Load Capability??
Can someone tell me or where to find-out what the stock rear spring load capacity is? It seems that on my '02 4dr 4wd that when I put a light load in the back the springs go flat. By light load I am talking about an 80 lb bag of sand or a bad of ready-mix concrete...something like that...and the rear drops by almost 2 inches.
So I was thinking of replacing the rear springs but have no idea as to what load capacity is stock and what to go for. Thanks for any leads or information. |
The local spring shop that added the extra leaf to my springs told me "the extra leaf will take you from the factory 800lbs to 1000lbs" I never tried to look this up I just took his word for it!!!

We have saggy rears after so many years, it's normal for a blazer.
"Add-a-leaf" is an option/bandage, but if you search in here you can find some that have added/replaced the rear leafs with stronger springs & have gotten a better ride height & increased capacity. Add-a-leaf's are meant to increase stock capacity, with weak springs you're not at stock capacity. |
