Hello everyone, I’m new to the forum.. I bought a 2001 ZR2 with 167,000 miles off a lady that was moving and needed it gone for $350, was pretty solid, and only had a brake issue. When I first bought the truck, the lady said one day she went to start, and move it and the pedal sunk to the floor. I figured it would be no big deal, and took it away. It seems that no matter what I do, I cannot get any brake pressure/ pedal height at all.. no matter what I do it goes right to the floor. After so long of not finding the cause I saw a drop of fluid at the right rear caliper, so I said screw it.. I went and bought all 4 new calipers, new rotors, and pads, and also all rubber flex hoses. I have even went as far as replacing the brake booster and master cylinder, and replacing all brake lines that looked rusty.

I am 100% positive that the master cylinder was bench bled and I am 100% positive that the brake lines are not leaking anywhere... I have bled the brakes constantly over and over, going through jugs of brake fluid more than 20 times, starting at the master cylinder and abs control module and working my way to the back of the vehicle bleeding the right left, right rear, then right front, and left front, as Specified. I still have no luck.. no matter what I do I get no pedal height, and the pedal goes to the floor with zero hesitation whatsoever. After talking to a few mechanics, I bought a vacuum bleed kit, and also tried gravity bleeding and it did not help.

Im thinking maybe the abs control module? Needs an obd11automated bleed? The part itself is faulty?

Any help, or suggestions, would be soo appreciated. I really have got a lot into this between time, money, and hard work. Thank you

I'm not an expert on brake bleeding issues on our Blazers BUT I have learned HOW you do your bleeding matters. I've also learned that ABS modules can fail, can be reconditioned (some how) and that how they are bled matters; i.e. you might need some electronic gizmo to bleed it properly.

That last time I did a brake bleeding I did a gravity bleed. Apparently the traditional way of doing it by pumping the brakes does not work with the the ABS.

Can be several issues.

o-rings in the master cylinder simply not building pressure because it is leaking internally.
The flexible rubber hoses having a broken inner liner which lets fluid escape into the external hose. Can be visible by ballooning the hose.
drum brakes leaking cylinders, but that eventually leaks out the brakes.

I'd do a rigging of a pressure tester onto the bleed screws and check.

I have an 02 ZR2 with this issue has anyone figured it out I’ve been messing with it for a while and still no luck

The ABS needs to be bled using a tool that I don't have. No way to get the air out of it unless you use whatever specific tool is called for.

Capable scanner can access a mode where the PCM pulses the ABS valves/module to bleed air from it. Trick is to not let master cylinder run out of brake fluid and get air in the ABS - only then do you need to do this.
