Default Odd Rear End Noise

I searched the forum and didn't see anything like this.

I get a strange rumble from the rear of my vehicle when I come to my first stop after reaching highway speeds. It doesn't rumble while I'm moving..only when I've come to a complete stop. It usually goes away after I accelerate but every so often it stays. I had the rear-end replaced about 9 months ago, so I'm scared there might be something wrong with it again.

The noise almost sounds like popcorn popping in the microwave.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is all while you are not moving... Are you sure it isn't heat noises from the exhaust?
