Anyone know the leaf spring bushing part numbers?
I picked up some near mint stock rear leaf spring shackles through a craigslist trade last month. One of the shackles on my truck is rusted through on one side. I'm going to install these near mint ones or some extended fabricated ones hopefully this weekend.
I looked on here, but couldn't get an answer affirmative enough to get me comfortable enough to place an order. From my research, I find that it is likely that I will have to burn out the stock bushings. My question is, what are the part numbers for the bushings I need? I read on this thread (https://blazerforum.com/forum/steeri...ushings-72444/) that there are two different part numbers for the shackle to leaf and shackle to frame bushings. Is that right? Also, any personal recommendations on which bushings to get, or should I just get AC Delcos? Cost is a factor. Thanks. |
yeah be careful ordering these. i do leaf spring shackles about every month or every other month at work on s10s and everytime we order the spring bushings they send the ones for the frame. the ones for the leaf springs are actually a bit bigger. maybe check some of your local autostores like autozone they might have them in stock
good luck getting the old ones out, it usually involves a torch and air hammer for me :) |

i'm getting ready to fabricate myself some lift shackles. I would do it this weekend if I wasn't going to be busy/gone. I want a 2" rear lift. I've read some conflicting things on here. I know that the stock shackles are 4" from centerhole to centerhole. I've read two different "schools of thought." One says that if you go 6" centerhole to centerhole, you will get your 2" lift. The other says that your lift height will be your increased length between centerholes divided by two. Therefore, you would need to add 4" between centerholes for a total of 8" centerhole to centerhole in order to achieve a two inch gain over stock. Do you happen to know which is correct?
