I would definitely second this, i had one of my boots come off and it made a mother of a mess in quite a similar way, its still there actually....but i got the boot fixed and its all good!

All done! CV joints checked out fine. Had the boots re-fitted (maybe replaced - not sure yet what was actually done. I picked the truck up after work when the shop was closed.

Probably could have went forever like that though, i only changed the shafts because i could lol.

Hose clamps will cut the boot, you need cv clamps which are flat and don't cut the rubber boot
