Body Lift Help
Im going to attempt to do a body lift myself and was wondering if anyone had any advice that could help the process. I dont have a hoist and was wondering how exactly you life the body off the frame with out one. The guy at the body shop said it was easy but just time consuming.

RE: Body Lift Help
Use a floor jack with some wood on top of it to lift the body off the frame.
Make sure to spray all the body bolts with penetrating oil (PB Blaster) ahead of time. Read through the instructions a few times before starting... and make sure to watch the brake lines when you're lifting it off the frame so they don't kink.
He's right, it isreally really easy, just very time consuming

So all i really have to do is unbolt the whole frame then lift the body and put the spacers in?...Is it easier to do the whole thing at once or front then back or vice versa?

With the blazer, i find it easier to do one side at a time. The trucks are much easier since you can do the bed completely seperate.
But yeah, essentially, that's all you're doing. You'll have to do some work to the gas filler, oil filter, fan shroud, bumpers, and a few other random parts, but it's really not hard at all.

Like Jigg said its easy, the hardest item is the bumper only because you have to cut the back of it. Also just a good piece of advise is to give the truck a once over after you are done to make sure nothing is stretched too much (brake lines, hoses, wiring, etc) and make adjustments as nessesary. Beyond that, easy as pie.

RE: Body Lift Help
The bumper lift mounts bring the bumper up but you still have to cut the back of it because it will hit the rear crossmember and not sit where its supposed to nor will it even bolt up. Normally this crossmember sits in the empty space behind the bumper but when you move it up it now hits the lower section.
As for the brush guard, i got it off ebay from hunter offroad accessories. According to them it should mount up to ZR2's with no problems. From what i can tell this holds true because it mounts to the bumper brackets which are the same from regulars to ZR2's.
