Brakes Chattering, Locking Up

Alrighty so I'm not a car nut or a mechanic but my dad is and I'm more of the forum nerd & owner of the truck so bare with me please =]

I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer 2 Door Sport that I bought used. When I bought it, it had a blown headgasket & some other small issues that my dad fixed. It runs great but whenever I go to brake the pedal chatters and I have to push really hard on the pedal to stop. The ABS light is not on, we've changed the calipers (spelling?) and brake pads and for a while it got better, however now it's gotten worse. I nearly crashed into our fire pit today when parking in the driveway and pulling into school was bad as well this morning. Right now my dad is test driving it and trying to figure out what's wrong but has anyone else had this happen? If so how did you fix it?

My dad pulled the fuse for the ABS & it got better. Supposedly my whole ABS system is completely shot so I'll have to go without that until I can save up the money to get a new one. No real loss, just gotta have it before winter or next june!

I doubt your entire ABS is shot... More likely is a faulty WSS or VSS.

I'll tell my dad that. Hopefully it's not completely shot. Thanks!
