Brakes Grinding into inside of Wheel
 

Well I need some serious help. Recently my brake caliper had been grinding into my rim. Every time i hit the brake no matter how hard, you can hear the brakes grinding into the rim. I have changes the hub bearing, soindle, caliper, pads, everything. I can't find out what it is please help. By the way i have aftermarket rims, but it never has done this before

Where do you see the grinding on the caliper? Is located all over the caliper or mo so on the following edge of the caliper?

Th edge. Tried grinding old caliper down a little, but it didn't work.

sounds like you have the wrong size/backspacing on your wheels

Are all of the mountion bolts installed? I do not just mean the caliper pins, I also mean the ones on the caliper mounting brackets. The caliper may pitching forward/riding out on the rotor when you press on the brake pedal. It is kind of like a needle on a record only in reverse. As the wheels turn all is good but as soon as you press on the brakes and the pads apply pressure the whole assembly will ride up the rotor and pitch up. Like if you ride the Tilt-A-Whirl at an amusement park, it is steady until it snaps you around and the ride cart swings around.

DKSDAD is right on with that, it has happened to me before, a bolt that holds the bottom of the caliper on came out and rubbed on my rims. Very unpleasant, that has to be the problem if not then something has to be wrong with your backspacing

So what did yoy find with the brake rub?Any update.

What i did was grinded down the calipers corners (thats where they were grinding) down untill they no longer rubbed. Thiss worked for a while, but recently they began to rub again, only this time on top of the caliper. It seems the ca;iper is just continueing to push itself out away from the rotor and into the wheel. I don't know what the problem is anymore. The left side sits fine, its just the right side. Like i said i replaced the knuckle which holds the caliper, the hub bearing, rotoe, the actual caliper itself. I just have no idea, and are about to just give up.

Get bigger wheels?

Sure sounds like things are moving on you. It doesn't make sense that the caliper is moving towards the rim. As pads wear, the caliper should move further in towards the center of the truck.

Are you sure that the bearing assembly that you put on was actually good?
