Default Broken Axle?

Hey guys,

Just took my 2003 chevy blazer in for an inspection two days ago. They said front rotors and brakes had to go. Also front right shock was extremely bad. Front left, not so much. They said go ahead with one shock and I should be fine. Yesterday I drove to work without a problem. On the way home, driving 30mph no pot holes, I suddenly lost control and scraping. This is what happened.
Am I looking at a broken axle?

Also, all fluid on ground was there when I pulled up. It's not from the blazer.

Also, if it's the lower/upper control arm, wouldn't they have seen it was bad while changing rotors/brakes ?

I'm no pro, but it looks to me like you broke the upper ball joint. Hard to tell from the pic if anything else was damaged at the same time. Ball-joints usually only break like that when they're not maintained. They should be greased several times a year.
