Center Link On the Way Out
I was in class about a week ago, and I was going to bring my truck in to get a wheel alignment. Had to check out the front end since there was some slop in the steering. After a little poking and prying around it was corrected with a simple no cost steering gear adjustment and the slop in steering wheel dissappeared, but it was also noted that there was a little to much freeplay in the center link and that the boot on the driver's side tie rod ball joint had failed. After talking to teacher he said it was okay for an alignment, but said that center link will eventually fail and so will the one tie rod ball joint.
I know I need to replace the center link and tie rod ball joint before I have to replace them when it becomes a real issue, but would it hurt to replace the other tie rods and idler arm or would just be a waste of money?
BTW, my truck is 2000 Chevy Blazer 4 Door.
