hey bear good job, was it the left or right side??

It was the left side, the bearing inside broke into at least 10 pieces. I just got the new one on today.

Bear,so when the axle shaft was removed from the bearing thats when the bearing came apart?

The bearing broke before I took it off, parts of it cut through the rubber and came out and that's why it made the popping noises.
Here is a pic.

You may want to check out your steering arm that connects to your steering box.Sometimes they have play up and down.Once you start putting new parts on older front end parts..You will start hearing clicks, clacks, clunks.Have it checked out ASAP.the longer you wait, the worse it will get.Good Luck!

I have a clunk on my blazer too,I found out what it was just now. It`s the hinges on the hood.I was told they make certain washers for them. Here`s the part # 12383460
