CV Axle grease all over
#11
Thanks for the 36mm info. Ya, I'm going to have to borrow or rent a few things from Autozone. I'll let you know how it goes after I do the work next week. Thanks guys!

When I first did my lift, I had the torsion bars cranked too high and lost a lot of grease out of the cv axles. I was told that I would need to replace them eventually. It's been over 2 years and over 30k miles later. I still haven't replaced them. I'm sure it should be done, but I haven't really had the time or money and it hasn't been absolutely necessary. That is just my experience.

Cool, glad to know that the T-Bar crank doesn't necessarily mean the end of my Cv joints. But if you saw the way my front right wheel vibrates at speed, you'd believe I need a new CV joint regardless of the T-Bar crank haha!
I'm planning on replacing most things on that wheel...cv half axle, hub assembly & bearings, idler arm, pitman arm, tie rod ends. Hopefully this will stop the vibration and allow an alignment to hold.

ok so i just recently had my passenger side replaced cause of the splattering grease and now my driver side is doing the same. i had plans to go wheeling on thursday. should i not because of the loss of protection? and should i not use four wheel?

Since the CV shaft is always spinning, not using 4wd won't really have an impact.
If you are going to replace the whole shaft anyway, it shouldn't matter if you use/abuse it until you replace it.

Not really. But the dirt will end up being a little greasy
