Default Flat Towing a 2001 S10 4X4

I am new to ClassA motor homes. I previously had a 5th Wheel pulled by a Ford F350. I have a 2001 S10 4X4 Blazer and I need to know if I can "flat tow" it behind my new (old, 2001 Itasca Winnebago). If I can, exactly what do I need to do to insure I don't cause a problem.

With the Blazer I would strongly recommend that you do not flat-tow a Blazer without disconnecting the drive shaft. Even in neutral flat-towing with the drive shaft connected is hard on the transmission, and there have been reports that it somehow feeds back through the transfer case and can cause the 4x4 to engage. I know that there are aftermarket companies that make quick disconnect kits for some vehicles, but I don't know if there is one for the Blazer. Even without a quick-disconnect kit it's only 4 bolts to undo the rear u-joint, some tape to wrap the berings, and a strap to secure the drive shaft to the body. I have flat-towed a Blazer before on a long road trip and it rolls along just fine.

If you've never flat-towed a vehicle before just make sure you read up about it. The one thing I will mention is that you should never ever reverse while flat-towing a vehicle. Disconnect the towed vehicle and move it out of the way first. Any quality manufacturer of a flat-tow kit will tell you this in the manual.

4 button transfer cases can be flat towed, 3 buttons have to have the driveshaft removed.
