front drive shaft
 

Ok my last question for help please! On my 01 blazer ls zr2 auto track. I feel vibrations in the floor seem to be coming frome transfer case. I feel play at the cv joint at front going into the t case. Seems to be sticking out more than it should also. How hard and how much to replace this joint?

that front joint isnt to bad to replace.
your hardest part is gonna be clearing the exhaust to get it down but it can be done.
undo the u joint first then maneuver the shaft out...you may have to pry at the cv joint end slightly...be careful not to tear that boot though...it is costly to replace.

I think the cvs are replaceable... I was quoted around $270 to replace the cv and balance the shaft. Did you do the bravada front differential swap? The reason I ask is your driveshaft should not be spinning (and you shouldn't feel vibration) in 2wd otherwise.

Maybe I just need to balance the shaft, I've balanced and rotated the tires didn't help. The 4wheel drive is working like should. Theres no play in the tire to indicate a bad wheel hub. I've seen threads saying this is normal and can't be fixed but seems like it can. Also I believe the front drive shaft spins at all times on mine not positive though. Its just a vibration under my feet and front driver side wobbles at 30-50 sometimes worse than others but my tires are fine. I've also changed fluid in the front diff and transfer. I'm lost now and it's bugging the crap out of me.

Maybe one of the U joints are binding. You need to remove the drive shafts and make sure they pivot freely by hand. And yes, the front shaft turns in 2WD, otherwise you wouldn't be able to "shift on the fly". In 2WD the right front half shaft is not engaged with the front differential. The front driveshaft is driven by the left front wheel when the vehicle is in motion. The front drive shaft is not engaged in the transfer case. Everything turns, it's just not all connected together and powered until you select 4WD. Then the axle actuator connects the right front axle to the differential, and the transfer case encoder motor engages the front driveshaft.
