Hard Gear Shifting, Loud Clunk When Shifting Into Drive

Today I just recently discovered a loud "clunk" sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. It occurs when I shift it into drive and then when I am going down the road it makes minor clunks whille shifting into the next gear. Please Give Me Some Help

Check your U-joints. When you back up or drive forward slowly, does it make a slight chirp-chirp sound?

i hear a chirp sound when in reverse and sometimes in drive, it fades around 15 mph, but when it gets upto 55ish-70ish the vehicle vibrates irraticaly, first i thought it was shocks but i realize it might be the u-joint (S) ?

No need to feel dumb when talking to a mech. I've always felt that the best approach is to tell him what the symptoms are and let him come back with a solution, then see if it agrees with your own suspicions. If he's good he might find a different cause than what you suspected. After all, we're trying long distance diagnostics over the internet and it doesn't always work. :)
