i have an 87 k5 and a 96 jimmy 4dr.. can i take the body off the jimmy and bolt it onto the k5 frame?

Anything is possible with time, money, and lots of work, but it isn't going to be a direct swap. You will have to build new mounting pads for the s-series body. You should measure the wheelbase and see how that lines up before you start though.
