Help with upper ball joint castle nut tightening
 

Hi all. Hope I'm posting this properly.
I have a 97 Blazer [email protected] 205000km. I'm replacing all 4 original ball joints with power performance.
My problem is tightening the upper joint castle nut. The cotter pin hole is lined up but the castle nut is very loose and there is a gap between upper control arm and steering knuckle. I can't figure out how to properly torque the castle nut and close the gap. Everything else is tightened down and installed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you use a torque wrench and torque it to the correct ft pounds? Then tighten it a little more to line up the cotter pin holes. That's exactly what I did on my 96 4x4.

These power performance (Pro Forged is new name I believe) are a very nice product. I do have one question with the upper. It came with a snap type ring, not sure where on the ball joint the ring goes?

It goes around the top part of the rubber. Right under the lip to hold the rubber in place and keep the grease in.

That's what I thought. Just wanted to be sure. Never used ball joints like these. Im almost done installing, can't wait to get aligned and get driving on em.

So I have everything back together. I'm just not positive that the steering knuckle and hub assembly are seated all the way back into place. There is a very small space (about an eighth inch) between the assembly and cv boot. It seemed tighter before I dismantled it.
Just want to be sure I have it right.

hey i just did mine and same thing, small gap between boot and arm..
this cause any problems for you?
