Home made Lift kits?
I was wanting to see if there is a home made way without adjusting the torsion bars, that you can lift a 02 Blazer? I tried using the search but the only home made method I found was cranking the bars, and using hockey pucks for a home made body lift. A body lift would be awesome, but saving a a hundred bucks would be even better.
Does the hockey puck lift actually work and how low does it last. Any "long term" home made lift tips would be awesome, if not please point me in the right direction. I did find a 2in body lift for about $245.00, it just seemed kind of high for 2in. I also checked out some of your alls pics, but its hard to tell from a pic, does a 2in BL and 31's make a big difference? I have 235/75/15's on there right now, so should i expect about 3 in's? Thanks, Jimmy |
the hocky puck lift, in my mind is only acceptable if your doing it on a 20 year old turd of a truck that is going to only see offroad. body lifts themselves are usually cheap at around $100. better save then sorry instead of messing up your truck or injuring yourself or others when the body falls off the frame.

A good body lift from Performance Accessories, etc, is gonna run you about $250. My PA kit was very complete and addressed things like bumper heights, radiator shroud clearance and fuel tank hoses... It is worth it to do it right and not be "rigging" something up.

Your both right.... I was just looking for an easier way out ($$$), but Im in the process of looking for a good BL right now, I beleive that PA is the way that Im going, thanks though.

Just be ready to improvise. When i got my PA lift the fuel line hoses were to short, had to go buy longer. The oil filter re locator bracket holes were to small for the bolts they provided. Had to drill those out. The fan shroud bolts were to short for the spacer. Had to buy those. But other then that, dont forget the two mounts right in front of the rear wheels. They are fun to get to with the muffler and gas tank. most people forget about these. good luck.

maybe thats why them body lifts cost so much. i bought one for a fullsize years ago and it was $110. all it came with was the lift blocks and the bolts
