Leaf Spring Installation Questions

Okay so I am going to be replacing my leaf springs here in a couple months and I wanted to know is it as easy as it looks ? from what I can see everything is very accessible and as long as I have the truck jacked up and the tire off the ground it should just unbolt and come right out is this the case or is there something that I am missing ? just trying to save some $$$ and do it myself I will be putting new leaf spring bushings in also, again are they easy or will it be a pain in my ass ?

On a side note where can I get some good leaf springs ( OEM replacement nothing that will lower or lift it ) and leaf spring bushings.

I have a 89 S10 Blazer with a 4.3

Thanks

rust is your biggest headache here. your probably better off doing it one side at a time. maybe support the truck on the frame so the rear axle is hanging maybe a inch or less about the ground, you will probably need new ubolts as they are rarely every reuseable.

since you are not using anything off the old leaf springs, if the bolts are rusted to the sleeve inside the bushings, which happens 90 percent of the time, just cut the bolts. a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder is your friend or use a torch if you like lots of smoke

a ball joint press works wonders to push out those rusty bolts......

I will probably just cut them off if they are rusted as abig84 said just seems easier that way but I still need to know where I can get new ubolts, hardware, and leaf springs online preferably

and bushings

when you buy leafs, the bushings usually come with them

oh ok well that is good but still no one has told me where I can find any of this at

jc-whitney has springs but not u-bolts... lmc truck has both but they're pricey... get the leafs from jc and have the local parts store bend you some bolts... or look on google and fine somewhere else

So I am going to go through LMC truck to get my leaf springs, u bolts, etc. I just want to know which leaf springs do I need? it has 2 different kinds listed on there and the only difference I see is the price? here is the link to the catalog page do I need the 1st leaf spring or the 2nd leaf spring I'm kinda confused

Just make sure you order the Leafs for your S10 Blazer, (LMC Truck Parts - Page 144)

I beleve this is what you are looking for as your previous link you posted is for what I beleve is the K5 Blazer. I was able to source a set of replacement leafs in my City from a local spring shop for around $130.00 with bushings...Picking up your local phone book may be cheaper than you think when you account for shipping and if you are able to source them locally they can more than likely provide you with replacement bolts etc.....

Hope this helps...If I am wrong I appoligize.
