I'm pretty sure this is not normal so...What in the world would cause this ?? Leaf to frame side .

The main cause for broken leaf

Anyone know what the main cause is ? Bushing/Bolts seized ? Poor design? I know age and fatigue but I have seen many older cars, trucks that are much older than 2000 with the original leafs still under them.

Many times the break is from rust jacking. Type it in your google and it will explain somewhat. It can be from the build up of rust between the spring and the metal of the bushing. Rust has enough power to move/break the spring eye.
