I just picked up a 97 4 door 4.3. I was told 4x4 worked, but after the first ride through a puddle, i realized it was not working. I am new to "automotive" and want to learn my new toy inside and out, so I am here. Here is where I am so far. It has the push button, and when i hit the buttons the seem to be working fine(although not on the fly). I hear the click from below me, but it wont engage. I pulled the battery, then checked the vaccume actuator, and it is working. the cable that runs from there is worn at one spot, but I can hear it clicking below. That is as far as I have gone so far, as I am clueless after that. I am trying to wrap my head around how it works, but again, I am new to all of this. It seems like it just wont engage the front axle. I am new to the site, so I have posted this before I have totally researched this, and I know I should be able to find a answer somewhere, so now I am going to read until my eyes bleed....
