Nuts and Bolts
 

That's all they are these old Blazers just a Bag of Nuts and Bolts. I knew getting into this truck I might have to one day get it all apart and really see what I'm dealing with. I was just hoping it wouldn't have to be so soon.

I didn't post my last repair so I'm back for my third major project on The XyClone.

After replacing the Rt Upper and Lower Ball Joints, Stabilizer Bar and Wheel Hub. She was fine for a good 3 months w/out an alignment. A few speed bumps and major pot holes on I95 put me under the truck for a much needed oil change and tie rod exam. After re tightening the tie rods it quickly became apparent I made a grave mistake. I took her to an honest mechanic and told me to replace all the bushings, hubs, ball joints, rotors, and body mounts. He basically told me to junk my car. It's not worth the $1250. Well that's just the encouragement I need to just start the next big project!

Obviously contigent on my first major obstacle. Are my body mounts salvageable? I found one post where he has tabs to tack in place. Worse case scenario I suppose. Obviously this would put the build into a 6-12 month project time if it is. Which would give me all the time I needed to bring you along with my journey to twin-turbo'dome!!!
If she's a keeper the whole front end will be redone in tubular control arms, Bell Tech dropped spindles, nitrous shocks, EBC Brakes N ROTORS. The rear will see a 3" Drop, New Leaf Springs, Brakes and Nitrous Shocks.
A new Drive Shaft and rear end would be nice but that's way down the road, hopefully Phase 2 of this project will be completed without having to replace these. But in the meantime I guess I'll just have to settle on a Camaro!

So my question is, how do I lift my blazer so I can replace and repair my body mount bushings? Is this possible without a lift?

Shouldn't be any different than lifting a vehicle to put on a body lift kit. Down load either BDS or PA instructions. I used a floor jack and a 4X4 block of wood to lift the body off the frame in the drive way.

Thanks, I saw a few videos where they did just that. Looks like I have my work cut out for me!

Crossing my fingers I don't need to add new tabs/replace the mounts!

front end would be $1200 if you do it yourself biggest problem i have messing with body mounts is the bolts love to snap off in the floor
