Sorry, I forgot my manners. Please, what camshaft?

Thanks John Brunton for starting this thread. I apologize for changing the direction but I've been looking for years for someone that's actually used that cam. The only performance camshaft for our 4.3 requires an "adjustable valve train". Yours' mentions it in the description and has a footnote on it. What part of the valve train did you have to adjust to make the cam work? The only consistent answer I got was tuning alone would not make that cam work. Mechanical changes, no one will tell me what, are required. How did you get that cam to work?

I never got an adjustable valve train, just new springs. do the standard tightening of the rockers and was fine. Best thing to do is email comp cams, tell them what you want to do and they will set you up

Comp cams are the ones who insist it won't work with stock valve train. I don't know how you got yours to work but I'm happy for you. Thanks for your time.

I also forgot to mention I have the g80. I know it still works and would like to keep it. Im assuming this changes things?
Thanks for all your help so far everyone

I find it's very driveable with 3.73 gears and 31's, especially on the highway. I cruise at 120km/h and 2100RPM on the highway. I average 13L/100Km (18 MPG) 50/50 hwy/city driving with a moderately heavy right foot. I just got back from a hunting trip where I did 500km on the highway with the wife and 3 sons, 2 dogs, winter safety gear, hunting gear, and all the other stuff, plus pulling a small trailer, and averaging 115km/h, I did 11.5L/100Km (20.5MPG).

The ZR2 axle I swapped in has a functioning G80 that has served me well for my camping and mild off-roading.
