Rear axle removal on 01 blazer

Hey guys I can't seem to find on how to remove the rear axle ( right rear). Trying to remove the inner plate where the hand break is connected.
Hope this help thanks

I don't think those are removable. Maybe they are idk. I cut them off before I installed my zr2 rear axle because the plates were rusted.

What I did is took the tyres out, then took the rotors. There are 4 nuts on the inner plate where the hand break is connected. Took that off, then still have no idea on taking the whole inner plate out of the axle so I can put a new one on. Do they have a circular clip?

you probably have to open the diff and remove a fork that holds the axle.

It's probably just rusted on there really good. Have you tried beating it to get it to come off?

Will try to do that. Doesn't look rusty though

Jeezz.. dont beat on anything with rear axle! Esp on trucks or any off-road.

Most likely it's held in with clip at spider gear, whatever the year and make

Once you got that axle out you can beat on the backing plate to your hearts content. Just not the axle housing flange

Here's a dumass shows you the basics.. but of course that's an open diff so a little different. And I never found a hub or rear axle seal wouldnt install fine with a flat short piece of virgin 2x4
