rear end noise

I have a 01 Blazer 4x4 4 door, my problem is when I take off from a stop and stomp on gas it seams like the back really drops and that something sounds like it is hitting, kind of a clunk,it almost sounds like the rearend gets to much traction and the truck can,t keep up.at 1st i thought the spare was hitting but does the same if i take it out.Could this maybe weak shocks? or is this the way the lsd works.any help would be apprieciated.thanks

RE: rear end noise

Is the rear end sagging at all? I would check the ride height of your vehiclewith the manufactuers and compare your measurement. Also, jounce the rear of the vehicle. If the vehicle goes down, comes back and stops, your good. Any more play means worn rear suspension.

RE: rear end noise

I just had the same problem and today my rear end is blown, everytime I step on the gas its revs to about 2-2500 and then you hear the rear end gears finally catching and it makes a extremely loud "clunk" andjumps forward.I would suggest stop driving your car and opening up the diff or checking the u joints for the driveshaft, when I take a look at my car I will post an update
