Rear end swap question

I tried searching and couldnt really find a match but I would like to know if a rear end out of an 89 s10 would fit my 96 4x4 blazer?:icon_shrug:

May be a stupid question but I can get it cheap so I was curious. Thanks

Have patience. The rules of the forum state to wait at least 24 hours to 'bump' a post.

Is the donor axle the same gear ratio?

Is the donor truck a 4wd like yours? The 2wd axle is narrower.

A quick glance at an interchange manual shows that '95-'97 will interchange given the same drivetrain & gear ratio, but it doesn't list what, if anything changed from the 1st to 2nd gens.

Wasnt really a bump, it was only two down. Was just surprised it wasnt answered by then, lol. So is there a chart on here I can look at, I may have missed it. Im not sure about gear ratio, he said it was in a s10 that had a v8 in it. I may just pass it up and wait till I find one thats an exact fit. Thanks
