Rearend ID for parts help
 

Newby here I got a junkyard rearend with out checking codes. It appears to be a limited slip type rearend. Of course tag on rearend is gone. I know it's a 7 5/8 ring gears and it's a 2:73 I believe. I'm wanting to rebuild the clutches and can't get the GM numbers as the dealer said they need the codes of VIN. It's being used in a ratrod 350/700r4. Will it hold up to LOTSA burnouts?

The 7 5/8 ten bolt isn't that strong, but I guess it depends on how wide and sticky the tires are.

If you got big power, and good grip, something is gonna eventually break lol.

I've read articles about guys building up the little ten bolt, but by the time you do all that, you're money ahead just getting the 8.5" one
