RPO code to determine sway bar dia.?
 

Was greasing my zerks last weekend on my newly purchased 1996 LS4x4and noticed one of the front sway bar end links was totally broken! I thought this might be an opportunity for an upgrade to Energy Suspension sway bar kit- poly links, new bolts and front greaseable bushings. I was trying to figure out what diameter my sway bar was from the RPO codes. I think I remember a "performance" suspension option from the window sticker, which might allude to the front sway bar diameter - ? I also have a rear sway bar if that helps.

Anyone know if I can determine what front sway bar diameter I have from the RPO codes in the glove box or option list on the window sticker? Thanks! -Mike

I do not know if you can find this out from the RPO codes...

You should either have a 28mm (~1.1") or 33mm (~1.3") front sway bar. IIRC, if you have the rear sway bar, then you should have the larger front sway bar.

Thanks Kyle, makes sense. I will def. measure before I buy, I was just curious if there was a way to find out on paper. BTW what does IIRC stand for? Thanks, Mike

FYI, I actually got around to measuring the front sway bar diameter near the end link (with my sweet 0.99 harbor freight plastic slide caliper!) and it measured 28mm.
