Shocks with torsion bar crank
So I noticed when i cranked my torsion bars, my truck rode a bit rougher. I was wondering if an installation of the proper shocks could smooth out the ride and perhaps provide more articulation. And would I need anything else besides the shocks to smooth it out. For example, upper control arms, new keys etc.

when you crank the t-bars it stiffens them up and lifts the truck. not sure if different shocks would really do much for the ride comfort.

A front end alignment is in order when you T-Bar twist.
As for smoothness, perhaps new shocks, KYB's are my fav. & check tire pressure. Yeah I know it's such a simple, stupid thing to check, but that also makes it overlooked the most. |
I have a pair of Rancho 9 position adjustable shocks that will work on your truck. They are RS9000X PN- RS99123 they are front shocks. They are posted for sale in the Trade/Classifieds on here. Check them out if you're interested. They will work for stock to 2 1/2 inch lift. 100.00 USD + Shipping. Thats half price and they are brand new.

when I put on new shocks it didn't really make a difference on the stiffness.

I've heard that it depends on the shocks. Nitro shocks are supposed to be more stiff but last longer and perform better in offroad situations. Hydro shocks maintain a smoother road driving experience while still performing decently offroad. Can anyone vouch by experience? If this is true then I'll go with the hydros because I prefer not to get my **** rocked everytime I hit a little pothole

haven't had any experience with nitro shocks. but if you want to go for the stock ride feeling just get some longer bilsteins. would probably ride a lot nice because most people with blazers still have the shocks that were on it when they were brand new and the old shocks are pretty crappy.
