Should I service my rear axle bearing (inner pinion) or pick and pull a used one?

Hi, my pinion bearing is bad in my rear axle and has been for quite some time, 10,000 miles plus. Also, my limited slip locker ( I think is the name for it) gets stuck every so often and when I turn you can tell it didn't let loose.

So my question is, should I fork over the money and risk servicing something thats "beyond repair" (for driving on the bad bearing for soo long) or just go pull a different one?

If I pull a different one I know I got to match axle codes and of course gear size, but since mine is 2 doors would a axle off a 4door work? Is there a difference in size? Or is there a certain year I should stay between ( mine doesn't have ABS its an 87)?

My shop guy will charge me about 400$ to repair the axle I have now and he said he doesn't know how bad this bearing will have damaged the axle itself.
