im to put a straight front axle in my 1997 2dr 4wd s-10 blazer i need to know what kind of axle to get and how to modify

Oh boy...

not trying to be an a$$ but if you have to ask these questions I sure hope you are going to have a shop do ALL the work.

And just to prove I'm not an a$$, an HP D44 is what you want to be looking for. Stay away from any D30's, regardless of how good of a deal they may be. In stock form they are not any strong than the current IFS under your truck right now.
