Tilt Steering Column Install help
 

Im in the middle of swapping out interiors from another blazer, same year. im doing the dash next, and figured while it was off, i should swap my regular steering column for the tilt one. im not worried about CC, just the tilt function. Ive searched all over and having a lot of trouble finding a step by step.

new: 2000 4.3 2D 2WD 5speed
old: 2000 4.3 2D 2WD auto

one tip i can give you is dont spin the wheel around on the column. make sure it stays straight or wherever you take it off. if the wheel spins around 360 degrees it can break the air bag clock spring and cause the air bag light to come on.

What do you need to know? And what's CC?

Is yours column shift or floor shift? Do you want to keep your key? Does it have steering wheel controls that you want to keep?

In my Sonoma build thread I converted a 5 speed steering column to have the column shift for the auto. I still have the old column sitting in the garage if you need any extra pictures.

thanks guys, i used CC to abbreviate cruise control, the tilt column is from an auto, and the truck its going into is a manual 5 speed. so now im thinking it might be too much work for a few inches haha

removing the shift assembly is pretty easy, changing the lock cylinder is a bit of work. You could always leave the lock cylinder alone and carry 2 keys to make it easier.

The wiring is all the same so that part is plug and play.
