RE: Transfer Case Control Module
"Be able to tell how its out"?? What do you mean by that?
As far as how much they are, they are pretty cheap from your local junk yard and expensive from the dealer. Maybe we should start with why you think you need to replace it... |
RE: Transfer Case Control Module
Because I have replaced everything besides that and my 4 x 4 doesn't work, I've changed Vacum Switch, Actuator and Actuator Cable. Althought I did find one Vacum Line cut and I dnt hve any idea where it runs too. I need to plug it or find where it runs too. I've also replace 2 or 3 vacum lines under the hood too that was dry rotted. I'm just tired of not having 4 x 4. When I need it. Thinking about taken it to a SHOP and having as TRANS DIANOGIS done on it here soon if I dont find the problem . . .
An What I mean by it being out is when it is not working no more. |
RE: Transfer Case Control Module
Here is the schematic for the 4wd system:

RE: Transfer Case Control Module
Yeah I have already printed thi8s Diagram out a couple of days ago.
I'm getting ready to go ovr the lines tomm hopefully it don't snow. So I'm not getting dripped on while I'm underneath the truck. |
RE: Transfer Case Control Module
Well I checked the vacum lines by the transmission an the transfer case.; Found one on top of Tranny that is not connected to any where. . But I also checked the Vac lines running to Vacum Switch and only one of them are suckingan the other 2 dnt do anything. . My Front Drive Shaft Spins.

RE: Transfer Case Control Module
Do you need a new shift motor? If so i got the case and the motor?

RE: Transfer Case Control Module
You should get a vac gauge and test your likes. If there is a vac line sitting there, you need to figure out where is has to go if anywhere. Are you getting vac to the actuator when you throw it into 4x4? The finger test works but I like the gauge to be sure the vac system is strong and not leaking.
The three lines going to the switch are one for your system vac so yes that should be sucking air, one goes to your actuator and one is a vent. You said you replaced the vac switch, right? Is your truck 3 button or 4 button switch? When you press the button for 4 wheel, does it just blink and go back to 2HI or does it look like it engages. Do you have the 4x4 service light? If so, when you press the button do you hear the TCCM click (passenger kick panel) You have to eliminate all these instead. When you say your front driveshaft spins, did you do the test when it is supposed to be lock and not locked? Have you tried using manually engaging the front end with the cable instead of using the actuator? I just went through all of this for 2 weeks trying to get my system to work. I though for sure my diff was shot. Guess what, it was a vac problem (the switch was shot and the vac manifold that connects to the switch two of the vac lines were purposely blocked. |
