vibration 60-70mph

Been having a vibration that has been plaguing me for the two year. Vibration starts around 60 mph and starts to smooth out after 75 mph. I've replaced all the ball joint/tie-rod/pitman and idler arm. Installed upper and lower control arm bushings. Replaced the sway bar end links. Had new bilsteins installed all around-had the driveshaft balanced and all u-joints replaced. Got new rubber all around and had them balanced several times and had the front end aligned 2-3 times in the last 6 months. I feel the vibration in the steering wheel.

what veh is it your asking about? did you have the alignment done after all that front end work? Did you check the front hub bearings for any play? were the tires properly balanced?

This may help and it may not. I had the same problem with my 00, but it went away after I got brand new tires, maybe something out of balance

It may be because the belts on the inside of the tires may be coming apart. That's what is happening on mine. My truck is lowered and at full lock the wheels will rub. That's what causes mine. It would help if we knew what kind of truck you were driving.

Sounds like tires to me... I am in agreement with the above, obviously :)

i would get the tires balanced on a road force balancer. and then get a alignment.

vibration

Alignment was done several times from two different places-tires are brand new and had them balances and rotated.

I have the same thing its a pitmen or idler arm

nats1956 07-25-2010 03:06 PM

I replaced all of the front end parts-pitman ,idler arm, upper lower ball joint, tie rod ends on both ends( parts from synergy) and installed new moog upper/lower control arm bushings. New bilstein shocks all around. Had the driveshaft balanced and new u-joints. Bought new tires and had them forced balanced and the front end has been aligned. This is driving me crazy! Could I have a bad hub/wheel bearing or axle?

To me it sounds like the front hub bearings. Mine was doing the same thing and I did just about everything you did and when I replaced the front hub bearings it went away.
