Saw this item online and was wondering what it is for. It's called a Rugged Ridge Spring Perch. Does this add lift?

I've seen them before and as long as they are not larger than the original OEM part, they just appear to be heavy duty.

Just one of those 'gray areas' to remember to replace while you're replacing the springs because new perches are better than the old ones are.

They are used to connect and index your axle to your leaf springs. They are not designed to provide any lift just to make a flat mounting surface on a round axle for the springs. Not really sure about replacing them either as they are deisgned to be welded to the axle tube like they come from the factory. Most people buy them when doing axle swaps when the factory ones have to be cut off and relocated for proper fitment or for doing a SOA or SUA swap to make life easier. Just cut the old ones off figure out where you need them to be and weld the new ones on! 98 please explain why a new perch is better than an old one??
