what brand are the OEM shock absorbers?

Short easy question. . .
I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy. I thought because I had grey Monroe shocks that the shocks had been replaced at one time. But did these come stock? Also, my Jimmy is showing it's 10 years now, it drives like a cement truck. When driving down the road the car seems to rock back and forth. What would you first replace if money IS DEFINITELY an object, and you wanted a smoother ride?
I'm thinking 4 shock absorbers and 1 set of add-a-leafs. I shouldn't worry about the coils, should I?

add a leafs will make your truck ride stiffer. You probably are ready for some new shocks. Most companies make shocks for blazers I'm pretty sure the z85 blazers came with bilstien shocks but those are like $60 a shock or so. If your looking for cheaper shocks get some monroes they are good shocks for the price.

Yeah, I have Monroe Sensa Tracs and they work pretty nice for the price.

I too just put monroe sena tracs on my envoy and it rides nice. And no reason to worry about springs at all unless the truck sags or sits uneven.

what my actual question though is this. . .
I'm trying to figure out if the suspension being bad is all in my head or not. I recently bought the car used. I checked, and the shocks on it are Monroes. What I'm wondering is whether the car CAME WITH these monroes or not, or whether one of the previous owners had these put on.
That's my main question.
PS, Rough Country shock absorbers vs. Monroe, who wins?

I think they came stock with either Bilsteins or DeCarbon shocks depending on the model

Just depends weather they are worn out or not if they have "excessive bounce" then it's time to start thinking about replacing them.

1 thing to check is how far your torsion bar adjusting bolts are sticking out.
