Blazer Khana

Alright, so figured to kill some time this winter i would make a drift video (because in the snow its just soo much fun). Oktain suggested Blaze Khana 1.0.............So figured would call it blazer khana 4.3...................Just need Zedartwo to come up with Jim Khana...haha

So anyways heres what i have so far, still have a TON of filming to do (and im doing it with a digital camera), and have to edit still, this is just basically everything ive gotten filmed so far minus the editing.

I love the security camera footage!!

zedartwo 11-28-2010 04:38 PM

I will get started as soon as theres snow!

streblo 11-28-2010 10:41 PM

haha thanks, i thought would be interesting, kind of show the movie as in a day of driving...starting scene leaving the house in daylight, and then showing that footage to have it shift to night, then i can get both night and day footage seeing as im doing this in my spare time and it gets dark at 5pm...........Think might have to speed up the camera footage during the day, and slow it down a little bit where the sun goes down, got lots of playing around to do with the editing and alot more shooting, need to get lots of scenes and only show a short bit of each one, most of what i have left and planned for is on the streets which i found daylight would be better which leaves me to shoot on sunday mornings when no ones out driving....but they just plowed the streets and they plow them down to the pavement and salt the **** out of them so need to wait for a little bit more snow......light snow is perfect cuz then can do the stuff faster, deep snow like in the daylight shot in the parking lot and final scene is a pain because your going to slow.....in the parking lot the first big doughnut i was in 2wd, then had to switch to 4x4 to get moving a bit quicker........Need to start working on my 4wd drifts more, i spend to much time playing in 2wd.....got all the technical stuff down in 2wd, but need to start working at 4wd so i can do all that stuff a bit faster.......harder to get as sideways on a single lane street in 4wd as in 2wd..........i still got some fancy tricks in 2wd to come..but im saving those for the final video :p...need the perfect amount of snow, not to much not to little so i can get the speed just right...................if i could get an ice storm like we had 2 years ago then damn....i could go down an entire block at a 90 degree angle.haha..

ice storm we had was sooo brutal..pulled into the parking lot at university...and there is a slight slope to it, and i mean SLIGHT (not even half as steep as my driveway, manitoba isnt exactly known for its hills)...and i slid the entire way down the parking lot sideways, about 150 feet (doing maybe 5kmh)...in 4x4 could not for the life of me get back up...had to actually make some tracks up a snowbank hill so i could get a running start and after a few tries finally made it

And zedartwo.....were in canada, we have a long winter of snow to come yet so we will both have a ton of chances to get some footage (and mostly have fun in the process) haha..

Im just lucky i somehow convinced my girlfriend to do all the videotaping :icon_razz:

Zerbla96 11-28-2010 11:24 PM

cant wait for the snow XD

RangerG 11-28-2010 11:35 PM

Very nice haha!

Look forward to see the finished product.

cbr995 11-28-2010 11:50 PM

Huh. I thought that's how all Canadians drive in the Winter.

I'm guessing you could get Security camera footage because you work there.lol

Looks like fun! Can't wait to see the finished movie.

Benedict1337 11-29-2010 09:25 AM

I'll probably have to wait another month for it to be like that in PA. I love playing in the snow too..

Haha yes its because i work there, i also happen to be the person who installed the cameras and operates them. haha............

And not all canadians drive like that..you have
1. the people who know how to drive, drive like that.
2. the other people who have no idea how to drive do 30kmh in an 80kmh, and 10kmh in an 80 when its snowing.....and STILL manage to hit the ditch on a straight road!!!....haha

But even BETTER yet is the people who THINK they know how to drive like that.....oh yes.....those are the best...in high school i saw two people crash into each other in the parking lot. haha....amongst many other things........I love RWD

zedartwo 11-29-2010 10:33 AM

hahaha. I remember at the ski resort I use, after its closed everyone goes nuts. Mostly civics and jetta's when I had my dad's full size chevy in 4wd rippin everywhere and these guys would stop, spin the tires and got stucks. I would just do donuts around them for a minute, ask for $20 bucks to get them out. made $140 one night lol

streblo 11-29-2010 11:38 AM

we had a 30cm dump of snow over night once and i was driving down streets with no tracks because no one could drive through it, towed out SO many people that day.

when i used to have my s10 i was in a parking lot and an old guy backed into a van and crushed in the bumper, the guy even happened to be in the van, and then went to drive away, i saw him driving away so i pinned it, he was making a left turn, i drifted around the outside of him and then right infront of him at a 90 degree angle to cut him off. haha, guy from the van came up and i left.........in this SAME parking lot i was sitting in the blazer waiting, an eldery lady was in a car infront of me, she looked at me and smiled..cranked her wheel all the way to the left and floored it in reverse to back out of the stall, she side swiped the car on her right backed out and did another 180 into another car....she just stopped for a second looked around..and floored it again, did another 180 into another car...haha, at this moment one of the owners of a van she hit comes out of the store SCREAMING....OMFG THATS MY NEW VAN. haha...it was way to funny to watch......and IM THIS SAME PARKING LOT during that 30 cm snow fall a civic decided to try to drive across the lot where there was no tracks and got stuck, so i hooked him up to yank him out and backed him up. when i stopped i got out to unhook the car and some guy in a van came up behind me swearing at me saying i hit him...im like..umm..where, and second of all wtf are you doing behind me when you can see im backing up towing a guy out....hes like right here..i look im like where,....hes like....uhh....it must have popped out...(as hes pointing to the bottom of his van) im like..ok..first of all THATS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO HIT YOU THERE..1. my bumper isnt even that low, and 2. my spare tire sticks out so that would hit you first..and second of all your van is dirty as **** and there are no smudges anywhere so F off!!.. haha..oh the winter stories....

Speaking of winter drift stories, back in high school when i had my 88 s10 we were on our way to school, it was only a 2 seater and had 3 people in the box...in the box i also had some plastic bins with bags of stones in them to add weight, well i drifted a corner....and then there was a patch of dry pavement, with all that extra weight in the back the tires all instantly hooked up and i went straight into a nice hard snowbank (good thing for metal bumpers, i had a busted up bumper i put on for the winter)...and well one of the guys in the back had one of these plastic bins sitting between his legs, they were strapped in, but the plastic the straps were looped through snapped and...well...got a big plastic bin of rocks right in the sack...haha..
in that lil s10 with a 4 banger managed to tow a car out of a ditch that was about 10 feet in...a guy in a 4x4 rolled up and is like..ok you try if you cant get em ill pull em out....got everyone there to hop in the box and got her out..i swear the guy in the 4x4's jaw dropped a foot..

Oh and also on the towing people out thing...rush hour traffic some girl had her cav stuck in the center ditch...so i went through the ditch , managed to get one lane closed off and quicky yanked her out of the ditch...i instructed her DO NOT TURN YOUR WHEELS, KEEP THEM STRAIGHT, of course she turns them and digs her nose further into the ditch, so just yank her straight out......get out to grab my tow straps...and she comes running up to me...oh my car wont start now..im like...umm ok go take a look. she had her car IN GEAR AND NOT RUNNING WHEN I PULLED HER OUT....wow...im like..ok heres your problem, put it in park and started it....haha wow..im kinda a nice guy i guess i never ask for cash when towing and when its offered i always decline.....on the highway last year couple was stuck on turnoff to a reserve..so i stopped to pull them out, again same thing, turned wheels and dug nose into the ditch....ended up dragging them through the ditch a little ways and up a snowbank left form the plows...had them resting on the top, back wheels 2 feet of the ground..stopped and was like...meh its a beater car and yanked them off the top..haha..probablly shot the already shot suspension

I was keeding. Must be intersting to watch everyone in the winter. I don't get why you would have so many people with little fwd of rwd vehicles in the winter. You guys get some serious snow, lol. I've seen videos.
So what do you do at work?

I'll have to do that next time I head up north when it snows, haha!
We have a k1500 Suburban we use for travel.

zedartwo 11-29-2010 01:55 PM

Haha. I love pulling jeeps out lol. Pulled 2 out last year. But, I'm pretty sure theres a "rescued" thread on here. I'll go dig it up

zedartwo 11-29-2010 02:17 PM

I still chuckle at that commercial lol.

That right, I read his mind

streblo 11-29-2010 02:17 PM

haha ya i know you were kidding. ya its kinda weird,i think more people now are buying awd or 4wds at least...but what gets me is the people with the little rwd or fwd that TRY to drive before the streets are cleared, you only really need the 4wd or awd here a few days after a big snow fall, they clear the streets down to the pavement and salt and sand the **** out of the roads here (which drives me nuts, why is the road wet when its -10 out, just makes the blazer filthy)....i do like, everything, im known as the keeper of the knowledge, haha, i have no official position, i do like little things around, we moved into a new store i set up the cameras and the computers and tvs and speakers, i do sales, receiving, shipping, some mech work, sales and mech training, pretty much everything haha.

and as for canadian winters, gotta love this commercial. haha

streblo 11-29-2010 11:26 PM

streblo 12-03-2010 12:10 AM

update:
well i was busy getting more footage, but now i am in need of another snowfall as the streets have all been plowed and sanded, and nothing in the forecast looks like street stuff will have to wait a bit :( ........had some wind the other day which got some drifts so went out the other night to check out some of the spots i like to go offroading and found some nice deep drifts to plow through..so in the mean time until i get another snowfall im gonna have to go during the day and get some off road footage...one of my recent clips i got that i like is this one......who needs to back into a parking stall when you can do this? haha

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D06AeQB_J64

p.s. anyone got some suggestions for music? im thinkin some electronic music...was thinkin maybe dark side of the moon by ernesto vs. bastian

streblo 12-08-2010 07:21 PM

Alright, unfortunately no snow today :( im about stuck for filming now until we get a fresh dump of snow, but managed to get a few more clips and put together for edit #2

zedartwo 12-08-2010 08:28 PM

Good ending lol. I like that.

MTopper 12-08-2010 08:49 PM

i'm really hating you right now. i'm waiting for the snowfall so i can do similar soon. i have a few large lots and such the i enjoy drifting around in. i just need to find someone with a decent video camera.

streblo 12-08-2010 10:13 PM

@ zedartwo - haha thanks, still have to get beginning which is me coming out of the garage. haha.
@MTopper - i love it, im waiting for snow now, almost all the streets have dried up right now and its a pain to get solid drifts with icy patches cuz its so hard to keep the drift smooth..hoping for more snow.......im just using a 150 dollar digital camera..haha..im doin blazer khana, zedartwos gonna do jim khana, you can do one to and maybe we can get a voting thread up for best vid:icon_rally:

MTopper 12-09-2010 01:10 AM

well lets just say this, you're going to win. i don't have the balls do pull off some of the stuff you do. nice open lot, yeah!, side streets, ok, into work/driveway, NO!.... haha

streblo 12-09-2010 09:11 AM

LMFAO. ok the work one maybe but that just comes from 4 years of practise with the blazer there 5 months of the year.haha..driveway..meh worst thing happens is you slid into the snowbank..:P i only did that once the first time i tried that. haha!..and im a horrible movie editor..lol, you get a bunch of shots of side streets and parking lots and put them together well and youve still got a pretty kick ass vid:icon_eddie:

streblo 12-09-2010 09:40 PM

Alright, so got out a bit tonight, need a little bit more snow for this move though, its a little bit sloppy....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPI7j5q3rQg

oktain 12-09-2010 11:22 PM

That was pretty sick.

zedartwo 12-10-2010 09:39 AM

I did that by accident yesterday lol. doin a little drift around some parked cars and went from slippery snow to complete ice. Oh god I got scared.
